Encouraging, verrrry encouraging. Thanks.
Blue no problem because a/f is pale blue:D

So, if I understand you:- Repair - Water Tite - Primer - a/f. Or is that:- Repair - Water Tite - a/f?

The repair is just Watertite. You'd need to check about whether primer is needed before anti fouling, don't know the answer to that.

OK. Thanks.

I'm going to Gaelforce tomorrow to get the Water Tite so I'll check with them about primer etc.

What a pallava!

At least Khamsin's bottom is really smooth now. She'll scoot across The Minch in a couple of hours!!

Thanks to one and all for your input.

All complete - and afloat again at last.

5 coats of Primer, 2 coats a/f. Many hours graft, but "bottom" looking really good with no more dimples, gouges, chips and scruffy old a/f.

Way over budget, but I hope it makes future winter work quicker, easier and not so expensive.

Good sailing folks.

Thanks for all your responses and advice.

Now there's a gentleman!

Thanks, your offer much appreciated. I like the sound of "pop over" - 80 miles each way!!

You must be a true masochist, offering to scrape the a/f off someone else's boat. Anyway, I hope I never have to do it again, just the annual scrub off when first out of the water.
But if you REALLY want to do it, then feel free - I'll watch you, and make the coffee.

Enjoy your summer.

This is the highlands chap, everyone knows that's just a merry jaunt! ;)

Cheers Robert, you have a great summer too, it's starting well at least!

Obviously i'd be angling for a bit of sailing experience (Is this still classed as masochistic?? ;) ) - but i'm quite happy to lend a hand in exchange for a bit of time at sea in something bigger than my kayak!

Mine's milk with two! :)

Good morning FishyInverness,
I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply, I've been "off air" due to major computer problems - working on a borrowed tablet at the mo until I can scrape up funds to replace crumbled desktop machine.
I brought the boat alongside last week to check and repair damage to undersides during launch. Nothing serious - phew.
Current problem is halyards entwined within the mast (I have NO idea how it happened) but it means much climbing and head scratching. I need to re-reeve main and topping-lift. Other than taking mast out/down I'm stumped.
Anyway, when you're across this way, let me know and I'll try to stoke your masochistic tendencies!
