Hi all, so where can I pick up some reasonable priced 316 stainless gas struts from.

I need some for the cabin the door ( top half lifts up ) and deck hatch.

I've used Struts Direct and they were very good to deal with when I bought a strut. Small problem dealt with quickly and might be worth contacting as well. https://strutsdirect.metrol.com/

I think Selden version was over £200 for mild steel body with stainless rod. Struts direct was about £90 in 2013 for an all stainless model. So better material for body and under 1/2 the cost of Selden version (which wasn't in actually stock anyway).

Spot on ;)

Some exact replacements for what I have fitted at the minute to the door, fair price at around £35 for a full SS strut and adjustable so I can it to what I need.

They come at 450nNm and I need around 150Nm for the door but the hatch not to sure. I will have to weigh it up.

Thanks all for the help. Some prices are shocking but I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks

Wayne

I'm not sure that the cost of stainless is really worthwhile. I put a couple of car units on a boat which did several years of salt water sailing without any sign of rust. At the time it turned out that Mercedes units from a local dealer were cheaper than anything I could find online.
