Ok, it's an old Flavel Vanessa and I know spares are difficult but has a particular problem. I've taken all the burners apart and cleaned up all the holes/slots of all the rust etc and on testing, one of the top burners lights OK for a few seconds and then goes POP and goes out! It's a nice blue flame although it looks a little 'rough', possibly because of the slots in the burner are a little rough. Is this the problem and means it needs new burners - if you can get them!

Suspect that if you also remove the jets etc and blow everything through with an airline and then inspect the jets held up to the light to make sure they are clear you'll solve your problem. There's not much to go wrong on those cookers except a penchant for leaking around the taps and some care is needed to keep them clean and lubricated.

I have a fully working(*) Flavel Vanessa in the back of my car at the moment. It is heading in the direction of the tip .....

Any use to you?

It looks to be in "fair" condition. Iknow the hobs work, but haven't tried to oven or grill.

Jeff.

* OK .. I assumed the rest works!
