Just seen another report of a domestic gas explosion, to be honest they aren't frequent.....but got to worry about something, since retiring I don't have enough worries. Anyway £20 or so, plug in, any comment?
 
Sopos ojwts better than nowt , though a regular annual gas safe inspection is a better investment. IMHO

Edit i presume we are talking house not boat.

Assuming it's houses - most incidents I've heard of tend to be either deliberate, or related to bypassing meters, or incompetent builders - there don't seem to be many at all that just happen out of the blue (probably a good thing really).
I don't know much about household gas detectors, but keep in mind natural gas is lighter than air.
If you have a gas boiler or heater then a Carbon Monoxide detector is definitely worth having as well.
