I've recently bought a GPSMAP 923 as a replacement plotter. My boat has most systems connected to a Module Miniplex with WiFi output that easily links to Garmin's Navionics to share depth, AIS and GPS so I expected that I could do the same with the new plotter to also receive the data.
The plotter has other ideas though and only seems to want to connect to other Garmin devices.

Is there a way to connect via WiFi to a non-Garmin multiplexer like my Android tablet with Navionics does or have I made an expensive mistake?

I realised I could eventually hard-wire the system but that is hugely inconvenient at the minute.

Sorry, but no can do. You can connect to it with NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000. You can use the wifi to mirror the plotter on a tablet, or use the app to make the tablet a stand alone plotter.

Thanks Paul.
It's very disappointing to find Garmin build in WiFi capabilities but limit connectivity to their own gear.
To be fair. the specs do say " Built-in Wi-Fi® connectivity pairs with the free all-in-one mobile app for access to the OneChart™ feature, smart notifications, software updates, Garmin Helm™ " though.

Raymarine are the same.
