Garmin Connectors

Has anyone tried ordering a Garmin connector from the 'pfrancs' website? (pfrancs.com and pfrancs.co.uk). It almost seems to good to be true. Is there a catch.
Can anyone tell me how to get a GPSMap 215 to send realtime position and speed date etc to a handheld GPS II unit. The reason I want to do this is the GPSMap doesn't record distance travelled whereas the GPS II does, but isn't as accurate as the GPSMap.

We have bought 4 of these connectors from pfranc and they work really well although the instructions were non-existent. After a bit of fiddling it all went together. You should let someone good at soldering with very small bits soldering experience do it like an electronics hobbyist or technician as a normal home soldering iron will be too big.

So far we have used these on our boat for several months with no problems on both a GPS Map76 and a GPS 12.

Yes, I purchased some connectors from pfranc for my Garmin12. No problems and no "catch".
