I have just bought a Westerly Fulmar wich I think is Hull nº1.
My previous boat was a 30 ft Douglas Peterson sloop that sailed beautifully.
I worry that the Fulmar may not be in the same league.Does anyone have experience of these boats?I still haven't had the oportunity to sail the Fulmar because it needs some work.

Directionally quite stable for a fin and spade.

Reasonably stiff but the fractional rig is biassed towards the mains'l so if it's a bit old and baggy you will lean more than go forwards.

Needs reefing by 20 knots for cruising, but the alternative (due to flattish bottom) is planing like a big dinghy.

Punches above it's weight in a blow.

Easy to manouver, responsive to the helm, I think you will enjoy.
