Fuel tank leak

In the history of the World Wide Web two events stand out….the first was the censorship of YBW (and events that we can’t discuss show where censorship leads).
The next event was the migration of YBW forumites to different platforms…the sensible ones went to Not The Lounge…while the sensitive ones went to Discord

Bouba, in Discord, you can block the sensitive ****s

Never been called sensitive before ?

Bouba, there's a carburetor/fuel/whatever test kit with a big 80mm gauge measuring little that I had to use to spot a loose connection on my diesel generator supply line. This silly gauge wont do you anygood! you need something like this:

Engine Fuel Vacuum Pump Pressure Gauge Tester Device Valve Check Carburettor Kit | eBay

you can also then use it in your car and outboard engines

Pretty certain that Tesla will only allow you to fit a genuine Tesla Carburettor or you will invalidate your warranty. Pretty certain these won't be compatible with non-Tesla equipment. Probably the same issue with their turbo-chargers I know they are very expensive and never in stock when you ask a dealer.

Latest…again frustratingly inconclusive ?
After putting in 10 litres and waiting four days there was a small amount of liquid that I pumped out of the hull….but it was only a cup or two not the half litre a day…and it looked watery and it did rain lightly one day.
So I am about to add another ten litres of diesel

Diesel and water don't mix so as for looking watery that's grasping at some sori of straw. 10 L across the tank is not going to give any sort of head (pressure) that would cause a small leak to be anything other than a slow one. Without doubt you have a tank leak you now need to decide what you want to do about it and who you want to do it, you clearly don't want to take the bull by the horns and do it yourself so it's a matter of finding a professional company that will remove the tank or better still prior to that doing a proper pressure test over a period of a few hours with a sensitive manometer. Then they can tell you what your options are as to removing the tank, replacement or repair. Get on with it man.

yep - I think you have a leak - the new season starts soon - time to bite the bullet and get the professionals on the case.

OR - never fill the tank above the current high water mark

Bouba, have you checked to see if your insurance would cover this?
No.. I was putting that off until I have a definitive result and a quote…because it’s a job for the wife (who is a fluent French speaker) and I try not to bother her unless absolutely necessary ?

Three and a half months and you have confirmed you may have a leak, at this rate you will be ready to go for the new season ....in 2023 ?
Yes...unfortunately I had to take some time out to study...I feel like a result will be due in two days?

Two more days is all I need ?

Being brutally honest given your progress and performance to date 2 months wouldn't make any difference. You simply need to accept that it's going to hurt your wallet a lot. Just consider what you are doing, you are not going to locate the leak you are not even going to be able to conclusively confirm a leak. When you hand it over to a mechanic all you will be able to say is that I keep getting diesel in the bilge, they will then take it from there and redo the pressure test or give you an estimate for taking the tank out one way or another. Stop procrastinating.
