Just don't drag the slimy black rubber hose over the deck! And fill a 20L jerry can first, then stop and check if his meter reads approximately 20 liters, not 35

Paul, you should avoid picking up fuel from underground tanks such as the one in Lipsi. Most ports use Minitankers and I have never picked up shit from them as the fuel is regularly turned over.
Its a very good idea to test measure the amount you receive, but I have not in my experience been short fueled in many years - my tank has calibration. and is a cuboid.

Got bad diesel twice in Amorgos, but that was a couple of years ago.
“Twice?!” You might ask.
My sister fueled up there and I took over in Leros. Had all kinds of engine problems on the way to Mykonos (on top of a broken autopilot and broken fridge). Diverted south to Amorgos, filtered the diesel, cleaned the tank (as much as possible) and filled her up, not realizing my sister got the fuel in Amorgos as well
. I’m sure you can guess the rest…..These days I always use additives.
