Been at Shotley for near 10 years and have no complaints. I think the time waiting for a lock is usually less than the time it takes to get up to Levington. Shipwreck is ok for a drink but the Bristol Arms is only a 10 minute walk. It would be nice if they improved the lighting on the "posts"!
I like it -- I pop in occasionally for a visitor's berth. Always feels like it's for proper sailors who want to put to sea ASAP, not weekenders who never leave the marina. No chandlery, sadly, but there's always Fox's up the road.
As for The Shipwreck I've never eaten there but I did have a nice cappuccino once. (See picture.)View attachment 209821
