With about a decade of being on the net it never ceases to amaze me how a thread drifts from the original subject. In the early days there used to be a guy who called himself 'Fred Drift' and was renowned for making threads drift. Ah! those early days just me Bill Gates, Andy Pocock and a few others, how come they made money and I'm still poor?

My wife once had breakfast with Bill Gates, she said. Turns out it was a boring breakfast briefing thing in the Savoy, and he was at the other end of a massive room, which hardly counts, I think. Breakfast at Savoy, incidentally, is highly recommended, and only 15quid, not bad for a whole load of bowing and scraping.

Ahh the old names, Mac the Knife, Dish the Spoon and of course Three-Prong the fork. Amazing how only Mac made it.

Forget the Savoy for brekkie - Temple tube station top of the steps first left. Lovely grub.....

Re: Fred Drifting

Did you know the road to the Savoy is the only public road in the UK where you drive on the right?
Barry I often buy coffee there in the morning, my office is just above Temple place. Are you a regular there too? You and I could meet up, the three of us :)

Re: Fred Drifting

ooh. I have a flat nearby. But I only go in on Fridays. Bank is quite jolly nice for food, but Savoy a bit nicer in a crumby sort of way.

No not a Freshie, though go there a lot on jobs (I assume you mean Frshfields, not heard the name freshie b4). No, an Android axshully. Is you an LLB, @DAC praps? and if yes please respond fast becuz I need some quick e-legal advice, my court hearing is next Wed 10.30am and I haven't had time to hire a brief so debating whether to go along and diy it or just send a letter. Gotta decide monday.

Matts, didn't think you came into the smoke this far. Yes Bank good, regular lunch becuase just over the road. Quite noisy, need to shout, but nice still. Savoy too dull IMHO in the grill, but like the American Bar (upstairs left) a lot. Lemme know when you're around for some lunch.

Re: Drifting over the limit

Ooh the dreaded speeding case finally reached the High Court. Very handy too. IMHO (cos I went and spoke to high-powered brief) he sed much better to turn up and grovel and cry, rather than send sharp-suited legal whizz-kid along which winds them up. If asked what is excuse, there isn't an excuse.

And yes just got back from central smoke, flat in covent garden. It's out cottage in the country. Zoom in on Friday eves if boatless or wionter, u/g parking, get sloshed and erm well that's it really. Handy for visiting Pentonville Priz too. Good luck.

Good food in the Ship Inn at Lymington, must be as Jake and Neale Byart were in there Friday night, Calm Voyager tied up to some raggy thing.
