We've had a fair bit if work done, but this little story illustrates why people bring their yachts for work at Fox's.

We asked for a seacock to be removed and glassed over as it was no longer needed. Owen calls me into the office - big problem getting it off, they had to grind off the skin fitting. Doing so they saw it could have come off by untwisting if it wasn't for the Sikaflex. I have a little panic about the other fittings. It's OK says Owen, when I saw what happened I went round and checked all the other fittings were OK.

Just got the bill today - same £112 as agreed, no extra charge for the problems getting the fitting off and no extra charge for the checks on all the other fittings.

Mind you, gave me fond thoughts for our last boat - just one underwater fitting. We are down to six having started at eight  why do we need so many?

just think how many those big Oysters have .

Two toilet in, two toilet out. Forward sink out and engine in. So far we've eliminated the galley sink out which now goes above the waterline and an engine intake that was buried in the bilges and couldn't be turned off

The only way to improve things further is to remove the aft toilet inlet and fresh flush only, which is fine; and make the forward toilet holding tank only and route the forward sink above the water line. Each of those last jobs are big ones though.
