Is Samoya an Oyster out of Gosport?
There are no oysters in Gosport anymore, too murky!

Well you just spoilt it. Most of us would have been happy with a handshake. I don't exact to profit from someones misfortune, a simple thank you is all I expect.

Ah David, You know which Oyster I mean, the murky one, so has it moved? or gone off on travels, the one I mean had my dinghy on it, as yet unpaid for,
Have you noticed that the more money many people have, the less they want to pay what's rightly due here and now for goods and services..... that's how they or their ancestors got it, of course, but they cannot understand/acquire the concept's of 'noblesse oblige', or what quite small sums owed can mean to real people's finances.
Let alone mix in community life- except trying (and failing usually) to freeload at every village or club event- eg only use the village pub Xmas Morn, yet expect free drinks, Talk about how 'charmingly rural' the village is, then complain about cockerels, horse **** on the roads(buy a shovel like the rest of us- free manure!), the Village Fair procession blocking the roads, and never buy anything local(applies to marine chandleries too, where they try on the kit then buy on line).
PITA's the majority of them parvenu's n haut bourgoise.
Yes I have! Some of them seem to think they are on a par with royalty. "never carry cash dear boy". Few things really piss me off, but incomers that complain about church bells, cockerels, manure on the road and so forth, really do rile me up. as for the rest of your post, I don't speak froggy, so I can't comment!

Try 'Stuck up, egocentric, metrosexual clean 4X4 driving wannabes' in Angle-ish?
the Norman French call them; "Parisians"
Oh, and Babelfish works quite well![]()
If I found a boat floating adrift with no crew, I'd like to think I'd be onto the CG / harbour staff pronto, as said crew might be treading water with a poor future in store ?!
Do agree about rich gits having short arms and deep pockets though, when I worked as an emergency plumber little old ladies in tiny houses tried to force large tips on me, while people with a big house and a collection of Ferrari's quibbled over every penny !

OK again agree, but in this case the engine was tilted up, not down, and the painter was in the dinghy, not trailing in the water. Pretty good indication it just floated off a beach with the tide. This has now been confirmed by the owner who left a note when he collected the RIB.
It had 'Troon' in fairly big letters under the name on the back and was flying an RAF ensign when I saw it anchored at Watermill cove the day he lost said dinghy

Ahh, you said they just left wine and jam, now it's a note. Was it a 5 pound note, a 10 pound note or a 20 pound note?
