One of our members is in need of some help. He is on his way south. He has got as far as Portugal and is in Cascais with a knackered engine. So its going to cost a lot of money. I have been in contact with him with advice over the last week and there is a thread running at the mo in PBO. Its Webby, We have had our differences of opinion in the past but I will not ignore one of us in trouble. So, to help out a bit financially I have purchased a copy of his book that he wrote, Its called Fair Winds' East Atlantic Year Cruise and can be found here

Fairwinds' East Atlantic Year: A 6000 mile cruise in an Albin Vega, or how we didn't cross the pond eBook: Bowles, Nick: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

Perhaps others would do the same?

Did you buy the Kindle Unlimited edition? ;)

I bought it a few months ago. Perhaps I had a premonition.
Thread here.
It's a good yarn - worth reading right up to the end to find out if it is a shark or a whale that attacks him in the Sound of Jura to delay his return home.o_O

It's OK, I was only pulling your leg! The price of the Kindle Unlimited version is £0.00, although I assume Webby gets his royalty just the same.
It would be interesting to confirm that because if he does I’m sure people will be much more willing to click a few buttons to help him out.

Edit: it looks as though Kindle Unlimited royalties are based on pages read. So if you plan to read the book you could get it for free but royalties would still be paid. No good if it just sits in your library unread though. Royalties in Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owners' Lending Library

I have spoken to him, his words, he gets about " thruppence" I dont think he means that literally, to help him the best, buy the £4.99 version? Ive started reading it, am enjoying it.

Have spoken to the ould reprobate. The rain has stopped at Cascais, and the sun is out. Spirits are rising, and glasses clinking. He has a 'cunning plan'....
Excellent, thats what so good about this forum, we all pitch in and help when someone needs it

Apparently, he's 'alongside', as his engine has been removed for attention. I gather she - a Morgan Giles 30 - is 'down by the head' or 'up by the stern' depending on how you view such things. Whatever, he's stuck there for a while.

Hmmm. I've just tried to buy this, but it doesn't appear in my kindle store. My account is a kindle.com one rather than a kindle.co.uk one.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me. A friend published a book on amazon, the same thing happened. He had to ask them to make it available on the .com site.
