After my recent experience I have been deeply worried about the future of this forum. What would happen for example if 4 forum member were on a boat that got torpedoed for example. I know we would not miss the likes of Claymore, Parahandy,Sailbad or Parrotfeatures. But to safeguard the future forum should we not institute a rule that the combined ages of forum mebers shoould not exceed 120 on a single boat at any point, unless safely moored up?

.... so what you are saying is that Claymore can never sail with another Forum memeber?

Self Preservation

Refused to let him board Rebel during the summer. Thought he looked suspicious.

Re: Self Preservation

Re: Self Preservation

But what happens if one forum member's age exceeds 120 years? Should he nair meet with himself? I suspect from their posts that there is more than one such person in our midst.

Age and AVS

Not a bad idea, young James, but may I suggest a refinement?

That the total age in years of the'butters aboard any boat must be less than the number of degrees n the vessel's AVS?

Re: Self Preservation

there's a glitch in your radar pic at 0900 ... unsafe to leave a blindspot as never can be too sure who you're likely to meet - as you so readily can testify ... suggest immediate trip to radar shop for repair ...

Well I'm completely safe, would never be seen dead (or should that be alive?) on a rag boat.

As for Claymore, has he ever been spotted in this land of world champions?

Re: Age and AVS

Can I suggest an amendment that instead of the boats AVS we use the AVS of the scuttlebutter?

We should maybe consider the AVS under the influence as well as under "dry" conditions..

Problem for Cornishman

How are we going to arrange that? Two of us on average = 100. That means We need to find teenagers to sail with. It can be done (my sons have never figured out why I like their company so much) but as time moves on gets difficult. I expect Cornishman will have to set sail with a 9 month old baby, for example.

Fantastic idea

Combined ages of Jimi and Claymore = 101
120 - 101 =19

Gender balance strategy suggests we need 1 x 19 y.o. Female when we sail together.

Can't wait

Re: Young Jimi

Its only the miles between us that save you from a considerable slapping . May woodworm infest your leg and all the shops run out of cuprinol and your parrot eat something which upsets him in the hope that he empties his stomach contents onto the shoulder of your morris dancing jacket along with the months of droppings that are to be found encrusted there.
