Forum Dive cruise On Blue Angel october 2013

after some coast seeing around cap Ferat, Eze,
and drop in out Monaco Port Hercule,
we are now moored in the lovely village of Menton (Vieux port)

plan for tomorrow is:
dive near Cap Martin,
lunch between Lerins,
dive near lerins, but first bring lady's to Cannes,
and then overnight on anchor near Theoule
(and not forget to pickup the lady's)

Just passed Antibes heading west after a lovely night in a marina somewhere east of Monaco (don't you just love my French geography).

Already dived this morning but 1 will do for me, the boys diving again later... Think I'll try to sneak into Carlton in Cannes for 2 screwdriver.

It's superb here don't want to go home

LOL, Menton it was, for the records. And of course it's lovely, it's the SoF spot which is closer to Italy...
Here are a few pics just to give an idea, but stay tuned. We've got some folks onboard whose photographic skills all of us already had the opportunity to appreciate, so there's much more to come, surely... :)

I was once offered that berth MapisM, or maybe the one or two to BA's starboard side. It was properly shallow close to the quay, prop-bashingly so. I hope they have dredged it a bit! Anyway, nice photos and nice sky in second pic

Tell Bart the article on BA in the new MBY magazine is really good. I doubt he has seen it yet. Great write-up and pictures, including a picture of the inflatable sofa

+1. Having followed the thread in this forum, it is great to read the article and see the pics. Fantastic job Bart, and a great read.

Jfm, Bart found article and printed off a copy I just read it as it was left on saloon table. Great being able to read them article and then stick my head up to make reference... More about the boat when I'm on laptop to type properly.

Mapis' pics above show pics of last night, what a lovely place. Jfm it is fair to say you should be glad you didn't take that berth, a lot of swell. An Azimut had a smashing time there last night, thankfully a few dashing men were there to assist along with an Italian stallion!

Back to today... The lads did a second dive, I took the women to Cannes on the tender. They went shopping and I plonked myself on the terrace of the Carlton... Bar tender very generous with servings but you need to remember you are on holidays when the bill comes.

Back onboard and a lovely night on anchor, everyone gone to bed and I'm drinking water trying to sober up as early start. Generator off and I must say... You notice when stabilizers are off... Best investment Bart made on the boat imho.

Big thanks to Bart and E... These guys are treating us too well but we are so grateful.

Night

The best patisserie near you - la Oasis (the public shop - part of the 2x Mitch star restaurant )
Tender to La Nap just across from where you are
Walk straight out of the marina entrance ( car barriers)
Cross the road -just down the direct opersite road on the L 30 metres .
Take a ladiy -fantastic stuff inc crossaints -and reasonable € -well worth it .
Otherwise enjoy it all - you can see the allure of the SoF -

oh just 10 minutes too late,
guy's are out to La Napoule on the tender, but probably on their way back now...

by the way, did I mention that this is my favourite anchorage in the whole area,
in front of the beach between port Theoule and port La rague

the vieuw in the morning light is magnificent,
Kivi noticed ofcause, and was doing his job with the camera this morning

wind prediction doesn't look good for the coming 3 day's, have to make some tough decesions soon...

I love that anchorage too BartW, though of course it is often unusable because it is open to the prevailing easterlies. They do very nice chips (in takeway boxes) in the café on the jetty just south of the beach. This is the anchorage where poster Coliholic fell out of TCM's tender at 35knots doing tight turns. I'll try to dig out pictures sometime. After the capitainerie guys go home, about 7pm, I used to moor the Sq58 starboard side to on the concrete jetty just at the entrance to the tiny harbour, with the bow sticking out into the open sea. Then have dinner in the restaurant, and clear off before 8am the next morning. I'm not sure this is possible in Canados 70/Sq78 though!

People appear to be enjoying themselves on boats in the sunshine in the South of France whilst I am sitting in an office in Bracknell looking at the rain falling outside.

To be fair it was so good I had to visit them myself on Sunday to make sure they all got away ok.....

As a berth holder there and driven by greed I hereby invoice you the sum of a squillions in arrears .. plus interest.

Oh and that cafe does great cooked breakfasts too !

No, not La Rague. We're talking about the tiny tiny "local boat" harbour "Port de Theoule sur mer right at the south (or SW) end of Thoele beach, where all the berths are like 6m and 8m. Or do you have a berth there as well???!!!
