I will never go back to vinyl lining after experiencing Van Lining ...

I always like vinyl headlining if there wasn't white panels with natural wood battens ... but having had a boat now with vinyl and its later failure - sagging likes whores drawers ... not anymore.
Yes its wipe clean .. it has a small amount of insulation ... but it has condensation due to its exterior surface.

My forecabin always had a small wet patch .. sometimes a few mls forming a puddle on the bunk. I tried Capt Tolleys and all sorts of sealants thinking it was various fittings through deck etc. - still same wet patch.
Since changing to Van Lining - I have never had that wet patch again.

+1 for 4 way stretch van lining + the spray adhesive, though the fumes on the spray adhesive are something else and you do need to be a bit careful there. Did my V berth with it because I couldn't face tackling the shape any other way. It copes fine with getting damp, seen that happen in a friend's boat. Much cheaper than Hawke House vinyl, cosier and seems to last well so far. (Friend's been using it for years, he says the pale shades can be hard to keep pristine, but physically he had no problem with it lasting)

It also has the advantage that while you do need to have cleaned off the loose flaky glue, it doesn't seem to need you to have ground down to an absolutely pristine surface, which saves some grim work.

I envy those able to remove the glue remnants with power tool! It’s taken me four weekends to remove the ‘gloop’ from a failed previous re-headlining of our heads. No idea what glue they used but it failed this summer turning to icky goop. Used lots of goo gone to get rid of most of it before being able to use a wire brush on a drill then acetone to finish it off.
So, for those contemplating replacing their headlinings, DONT skimp on quality glue!
