I've re-installed my Minimec injector pump (on my Ford Lehman 2715e) which was refurbished by Lancing Marine. Engine runs and starts fine but _perhaps_ has a touch more vibration at idle than it did before.
Lancing Marine said to me that the timing mark setting combined with the dimple on the pump cog was 'a good starting point' for correctly timing it up. Mine is bang on the specified settings presently.
Is it worth trying it with the pump rotated tiny amounts (the mounting allows for a few degrees of rotation each way) to try to find a sweeter spot? If so is it just a matter of finding the position at which it 'sounds' the best, or is there a more scientific way?
I guess it might sound best at idle in a position at which it doesn't sound best when being run at higher revs, and/or under load?
Or should I take the "if it aint broke don't fix it" stance.
TY
