I hope Force 4 are aware of these sharks trying to feed off their good name and can do something about it; I have had nothing but exemplary service from Force 4, top service as well as best prices.

Maybe these other names are Marine Megastore branching out as the stink of their existing brand begins to spread?

Cactus were the VAT free arm of MES Ltd in Bristol, who were very good, but I recall reading they had a change of ownership and things weren't so good now, but don't think it was Force, but could be wrong.

Not as far as I know. They seem to be connected with MES though. Both brands tend to have good prices and service is acceptable (MES once forgot to let me know that a radio was back-ordered, but otherwise I have no complaints).

No, they havn't really done anything wrong apart from what you had when i ordered a radio.Thats why i thought they may be connected due to the back order thing.Prices was ok but there are cheaper (also remember their real price (UK) is in tiny letters!, VAT free is shown big)

I've had stuff from them turn up quickly as well. I don't think they're a drop-shipper.

Yup, watch the various disguises Marine Megastore are using (Incidentally, I am not 100% sure, but I believe the original "Marine Megastore" was also half inched from...well, another Chandlery, shall we say...who launched the concept of having "Marine Megastores" around the country.

I'd say, exercise your Distance Selling Rights, cancel the order, and obtain your refund, then use an online chandler with a good reputation for getting it right...plenty to choose from :)

Oh, and Yes, Cactus and MES are linked, but not linked in any way to the frankly awful Marine Megastore or their various clones...

interesting thread. I saw this site and was somewhat taken aback because my immediate reaction was that it looked like some was was trying top pass off themselves as another company. I did not make further investigations but decided to move on. Personally I think anyone who tries to trade off another companies good will is not playing the game.

Slight thread drift:

I happened to spot that RYA mentioned "chandlery discounts to members" on their web-site as an inducement to join.

Not really impressed when I spotted the link to MarineMegaStore's web-site. I wonder how much research they did before thinking it would be a good idea to link their name with that particular company.

Marine Megastore are all over the attempts to trade off others' reputations - "Nautical gifts" - selling products in the vein of Nauticalia, The Waveline identity, now Force Chandlery, as I said on the other thread, i'm just waiting for something like "Book Port" to arrive and we'll know they're going all out on the underhand tactics...

Seajet, perfect clip....I say we take off and nuke their entire website from orbit....

......it's the only way to be sure.....

I'm sick of these people now.Still no wiper arms and i can't seem to find any other supplier other than marinemegastore (same thing!) or Bainbridge Marine, are they ok? but still 4 week back order! Wiper arms i'm after are Roca parallel arms HD280mm and should be about £20 each.
