I was reading recently about a Marina in the Florida Keys who were saying they had almost finished the clear up from the last visit by a Hurricane. :(

Weve been watching the same reports. We’ve got some friends who are frantically sailing south from Antigua atm. They stopped for a few hours sleep at Pigeon Island last night but are now sailing S as fast as they can. Fortunately we’re now safely(?) ashore in a sheltered spot in Grenada. Props chained together and tie downs to anchors buried in the ground being added.

Been watching this developing. It started as a 10% chance, now up to 90%, but at the same time seems to be more and more likely to track north.
Still it's a bit worrying too have a fully developed system so early in the season. The eastern Atlantic is unusually warm which might be a factor.
We're currently anchored at Petit St Vincent, within a few hours sail of Grenada. Plan to be in Carriacou when the system is passing.

The red 'X' in John's chart above is now Bret -
The Hurricane Watch Net - (Atlantic Products)

Windy is showing Bret swinging north of us - and thankfully most of the action seems to be in the northern quadrants, so we should hopefully have not-a-lot of wind, and probably some rain.
Hit the red button in the bottom left of this link to animate Bret.
Windy as forecasted

Passage Weather is also showing Bret going north of us - looks like we might get 20 - 25 knots from the NE, and then swinging around to the south.

We had Hurricane Elsa visit us in early July 2 years ago - she went south of us, so we had easterlys, which was fortunate, as many boats stayed on their moorings on the west coast (and a few decided to go on walkabout over to St Lucia, where they were towed in).
If the winds had been westerlys a lot of boats here would have ended up on the beach.

The latest charts still show Bret swinging north of us, but not by much - the winds are going to be all over the place, from NE - NW and then around to SW and SE in fairly quick succession, so the sea on the west coast here will be rather confused - I think there will be lots of boats going into Port St Charles and Port Ferdinand tomorrow as a prudent safety measure.
Both marinas are obliged to accept boats until they are full in the event of a named storm heading our way.
