Any feedback on cheap folding props, any loss of motoring performance or any good makes for little money. Boat is 25ft MG Spring. Only one I've found so far is Gori.

Try CJR Propulsion, sorry neither are "cheap" - if you are on the south coast of England you could try talking to somebody like Lancing Marine Engineers, or any similar company who sourced my new propeller and will do the calculations for you. Gori are very good though - this is what we eventually bought.

Regards, Jeff.

Best are Gori, but also most expensive.
Cheaper & more cheerful are Radice.
German alternative is Variprop.

Try Les Hill of Lake Engg for the first 2 on 01202 621631.

There are a couple of Italian mfrs and one French , but not generally available in UK.

Brunton and Maxprop are feathering props and a different order of price and performance compared to folding props.

Have had a Gori for 6 years, As with all things in life buy cheap pay twice. The Gori is not cheap, superb engineering and is well worht the extra spondulicks. I took it off after 4 years and the engineering tolerances are so good the internal grease on the tapers was still like new.

I bought a JF feathering prop from Darglow two seasons ago, and have been very pleased both with the performance of the prop & service from Darglow.
It gives much improved response in astern with less prop walk. No noticeable change to ahead, but has made a big difference to sailing speed.
It does seem to eat anodes, at least 1per year, but that's probably not the props fault.
