Flybridge 42

where were those pics taken I cant make out the back hills???.
Must say its a nice looking boat.

From your experience what would yopu change about it or re spec in any way

To be honest there isn't much I'd change on the boat. The heating duct in the saloon came out behind the small slide out settee on the port side which heated it up nicely but not the room. It was changed recently (f.o.c) to exit under the fixed settee on the stbd side blowing directly into the room.

I'd probably have a look at the new fabric that's available for outside seating rather than vinyl. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the vinyl and it's a known quantity, just liked the look of the new stuff when we went to a sports boat open day at swanwick.

The bits I love are the engines, the genny (haven't had on before and this is so quiet you can use it near other people without upsetting them, and funnily enough my little aluminium hulled tender. Much better than an inflatable or wooden plank hull & lighter as well. We've had a lot of use out of it. A good buy from the London boat show.

Oh, the other thing we bought from Southampton were giant bean bags or as Emily calls them the bag of beans. We have some in the flat for the balcony and one on the boat. Set up on the flybridge it is pure heaven with a bit of reading material and a small glass of something from the flybridge drinks chiller.

So no, I think Princess pretty much thought of most things. They evolve rather than suddenly trying to re-invent the wheel. Apparently they still insist on full size mock ups of planned interiors so they can be evaluated and I think it shows. I always remember walking round the bed in the Manhatten 54 and thinking someone's fecked up here, they've missed the bed with the roof projection (downwards) and you have to lean out at a wierd angle to get round.

I suppose a final thought would be for more full height wardrobe space in the front cabin (all my cocktail dresses ;) ),in fairness the answer is to buy a bigger boat sir and there are other places to hang coats other than the bedroom. You just need to plan what you keep on board a bit.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, off for some breakfast then a walk over to the show :)

keep smiling

Henry :)

Oh, the photos by the way. Up river from Dartmouth on our trip there earlier on this year (when we got some great advice on this forum re: places to go).

Staying on the theme......One thing that caught my eye at SIBS was the Rodman Muse 44. Does anyone have any opinions on its predecessor the Rodman 41.
