My engine (diesel 6 cyl 5 lt) is connected to the drive shaft via an Aquadrive CV coupling. I recently noticed slight lateral movement of the engine when rolling in a heavy sea. Not a sideways shift, but a slight roll on the mounts, maybe 1mm. I've never looked before...It seems that some movement must be expected in such conditions (after all the mounts are flexible), the CV coupling allows movement, but what would be excessive movement?

The mlounts have not been doused in diesel and I have no reason to think that they have gone soft (renewed some years ago).

Thanks

You have a lot of weight and leverage with any heel so a few mm would not be a surprise.

We've looked at fore and aft movement of soft mounts and have seen a worst case of 9.00mm fore and 9.00mm aft.
