I have about a dozen old flares to get rid of.
Any one know of any facilities or 'open' days coming up in the Poole area.
Googling is not proving very helpfull!

Just spoke to Poole RNLI, they dont help with disposal anymore.
I am not buying anymore so I dont think Force 4 will take them.
Ocean Safety in Southampton will take them, £2.65 per flare + vat, max 20 without appointment. So thats where I am off to!

Serious question, is the new disposal system not working?
What “new system”? AFAIK there isn’t any new system, just the withdrawal of the previous arrangement by some MCA stations to take in some flares on some dates.
All that is left is commercial sites, who naturally need to charge a significant price to cover their significant costs.
And when first launched, the website had huge gaps round most of the UK coastline (some 300 miles or so) and no options in any of the islands (which in theory don’t allow flares on ferries). I think this was partly a website data issue, but not sure there is much other than participating big chandleries etc.
