Yeah can imagine. When teaching people I always make them walk to the end of the pontoon and observe the tide there before casting off. Yours is a good description of why.

I bet.

If you avoid the upstream side of D pontoon at Deacons on the ebb for any future teaching then!! Don't really want to have my bows rebuilt !!

The little sailing boat that Lisa is falling in love with is a Leisure 17. A guy called John Adams sailed one across the Atlanatic in 1967, took hime 32 days. If Firefly were to pan his camera left onto the D pontoons you'll see her big sister (23ft) owned by yours truly. :)
