First Trip Out in the Solent

Going out is no problem, it is coming back in which is the problem. Once you are close enough to read the cill properly it is difficult for a boat of your size to turn around in the channel and head back. If there isn't enough water over the cill the channel is very narrow for a long way. Just aim to be crossing the cill at high tide and you won't have a problem. I will move my boat well out of the way!!!

So let me get this right - I cross the cill and head for miss pepperpot - then use her and a roving fender to swing my boat around and into the heading for its berth ....... right?

it wouldn't be the first time a trader has done that! (not with my boat though).
I will be there hopefully sunday to watch and learn, might take my camera.

whilst I'm there, I can check that they have cleaned up after the mess I saw (large family eating burger kings / fries etc in the saloon) at the boat show
