First decent weather break in….ages

Update....I’ve used this as an opportunity to change the anodes...I’ve done about half so far.
Unfortunately, the mechanic has let us down....so we are scrambling to find another one. I’m sure I can’t do it myself....I can only get one hand in....and doing something up with one hand could be a problem....but if we can’t find someone by tomorrow then I won’t have a choice
Tomorrow is perfect weather and I was really hoping to get back on the water....oh well

Update…. I fitted all the anodes…always harder when you are time constrained.
The original mechanic bailed on us…after lots of ringing around we found another who should start this afternoon.
Had a restless night planning how I was going to do the job myself as a last resort….you know how it is…going through every tiny detail over and over until you have a foolproof plan

Once you are satisfied he or she is a good person to work on your boat make sure you pay up ontilme and praise his efforts !

Update.....the mechanic has removed the old fittings and thru hull....we are off to buy the replacements and he will install in the morning
 
Update.... we bought the replacement fittings and delivered them to his workshop....turns out it’s his name over the door and it’s a proper boat yard...they were doing some big jobs and I was impressed. Tomorrow morning at 8:30 they say they will fit the fittings. The port will be happy to see us gone...it only has a small place for the boats out the water...and our emergency caused us to jump the queue and they are getting flak from the other boat owners

Unusually no....there is some confusion...I’ll attempt to add to it....
There are two boat yards....the one where my is on the hard....and the one owned by the mechanic who doing the work on my boat....I only visited the mechanic’s yard to deliver some parts that he can prepare ready for tomorrow morning.
To save time, I went and bought the parts myself....this is a rush job because the port want my boat in the water to make room for their other customers
 
Update....the work has been done....splashing the boat at 2 pm...to give a little time for the sealant to cure...the mechanic will be there to check his work
The good weather returns tomorrow...so, all being well, we can spend the next three or four days aboard....fingers crossed
 
Getting ready to go down to the port to launch the boat.....as an aside...I was just watching a YouTube video that was a quiz to see if you could name the 1950’s movies just from one still...I nearly got them all. Don’t know why I thought you all needed to know that... I just did

My pm is not working so contact you here goes. Yes later I will drop off buckets submersible pumps , and life jackets , also sea water plants for your saloon and bedrooms , Yes ans After shave by Diesel in case the salt takes away the red smell.
