Re: Flares were XM-Yachting Brand

XM are now part of Plastimo aren't they? I must say when I had a question about an XM branded dehumidifier though Force 4 (supplied without a manual), XM were singularly unhelpful, no they didn't know the answer, no they didn't have a manual and anyway the range was being withdrawn. The unit packed up in weeks and was credited by Force 4 (full marks) but I was left with an overiding urge never to buy anything XM again.

Do you know the actual make of the XM branded flares? I ask because our flares were bought in France, though made I believe in Spain and SOLAS approved.

Paul Gelder (Ed. YM) would be very pleased to get a letter from you on this subject. As you say, the important thing about this is that it may indicate a faulty batch and it is important XM take them back and investigate. Please keep us all informed of developments

Re: Ooops should now work

Ok they are back now!

When did you buy the flares, I have the exact same pack and would like to know if I should be worried. I bought mine in March 2002.

Mine are stored in the saloon by the door, I wonder if I should move them to a locker where there is less 'burny' type stuff?
