I have recently developed a passion for sailing. I would like to hook up with someone who would be willing to let me crew on their boat on a long trip. If they don't need crew maybe they need a teacher or a nanny? Any ideas about how I might find a place on a boat would be appreciated.

Hi Clarkie , welcome to the madhouse , lower down the list of forums you'll find the crewing forum but to be honest it would help to direct you to the best place if we had some idea of your location . I live near Spalding in Lincolnshire , but on here we have members from the UK alone that stretch from one end of the country to the other , so if you can give some idea of where you are ( a county or region ) we can point you in the right direction
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave! Thanks for answering. I'm in Toronto but I'd be prepared to go just about anywhere if I could get to be a part of a crew on a longish sail.

How about a sail on a Sunfish on Sand Lake near Kearney /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The winds can be quite frisky and can always go watch the bears on the garbage dumps aprez sail.

There is a web site Crewseekers which might be of use for you also there may be USA websites for sailing on the East Coast USA from hode Island down to the Caribean etc such as this one USA Crewseekers
