Many years ago I had an ex-navigation officer from nuclear's join my (non naval) team and when I was negotiating with one of the ferry companies saw a frigate come in at end of Armilla patrol. I happened to mention this next day to my nav officer (ex) asking him if he new (IIRC Exeter), "Know her, Know her, I almost sank her" was the reply. He was apparently Officer of the watch and came up to periscope depth, took one look and went deep. He reckoned the conning tower/fin would have opened up the frigate like a tin opener. The captain was none too impressed.

Wouldn't have done much good to the sub, either. Considering how "ramming" disposed of some U-boats in both world wars.
