Fatal boat crash off Shoreham

As far as I have seen from news reports no other vessel owner or captain has admitted involvement.

Quite possibly they were unaware of the collision. It's now on MAIB's list of investigations so presumably they'll do a full analysis of the traffic in the area at the time.

I am not a registered user but I can still see that It sailed from Shoreham (GB SHO) to Grimsby ((GB GSY) on 6/7 August and is still in Grimsby

It says it sailed at 6.27am on the 6/8, arriving at 17.23pm on 7/8 at max recorded speed 11mph. Is it likely to be still 10m off Shoreham at 1.00am on the 7/8?

No. By that time it was somehere between Shoreham and Grimsby

The incident occurred early, on the 6th!
But before the time ( 0627) recorded for the Vertrouwen's departure for Grimsby.

As unregistered users we do't know where is was at the time of the incident, No doubt the authorities do!

From the BBC report post #1 dated 6 August 2017
A 45-year-old man from London was rescued at about 05:50 BST
Does this mean that records and time stamps may have been falsified?

It's all been a bit fishy from the start this

It does. But if you do enough digging elsewhere on the interweb you can find that at ~ 07:50 BST it was just off Dungeoness, steaming at 7-8kts, later on steaming at closer to 11kts.

I'm not sure there is AIS from before that. There is no requirement for a vessel that size to be transmitting AIS.

The fisheries protection guys have a non-public tracking service. They will know where it was.

Its 70 land miles from Shoreham to Dungeoness by road, and at sea you need to go round Beachy Head. Lets call it 80 land miles, which is 70NM, Lets assume they steamed at 9kts that would take 7hrs 45 to get the that point off Dungeoness. So time of departure would have been Midnight. Same as the sunk vessel...
