Am I dreaming or is this a racing forum??!!

I thought my many posts on the subject of what a good idea it would be had fallen on deaf ears! But obviously not!

Thanks to whoever sorted it.

Now Flaming etc, get posting to prove the naysayers wrong. I have a burning issue which I will post in a separate thread!

am i correct in assuming you re somewhat pleased with a move made by the party chiefs?

it seems that with 250 views and no replies your enthusiasms on the matter are not contagious.

perhaps you can tell me where the fun lies in going around some buoys?

i thought sailing was all about setting off for the nearest decent anchorage, getting your rod out, uncorking a decent red and supping it as the sun sets.

tacking and gibing are things which are only done under duress, not things to be done for pleasure, imho.

Looking forward to seeing you in here regularly! Might not be your cup of tea but there were quite a few posts before about race related subjects that sank without trace in the main forums. Too many anchor posts!

Anyway we will see. I see that the wooden boat forum has only ever had 319 threads. So I think this will be fine.

Have to say I'm glad to see it here.

I don't race - I raced dinghies in my teens and twenties and have crewed on a couple of yacht races but until this years RTI had not skippered a yacht in a race. I'm seriously thinking of moving more towards some bottom end / fun races suitable for entry level & small crews on boats that are not stripped out racers. Looks like it might be a good place to ask lots of dumb questions.

I mainly race but also potter about on occasions (see my nom de plume - geddit) and I too heartily welcome this new forum - well done YBW! Whatever our interests let's avoid ritual slagging off of other folks and their viewpoints!

Let's see if the racing inclined find a home here - hope they do .............
