Dunno if it's just me but I reckon that many boats of that generation look "right" at rest but a bit bow high underway whilst the more recently designed stuff looks a bit down at rest but "right" when underway. Mind you this is from someone who thinks a 1930's Thorneycroft is the height of style...

My 36 Sedan was not "bow up" at rest she was antifouled up at the bow to follow the chine line which accentuated the impression she was.

Trilux is a copper free antifouling suitable for aluminium hulls, it is one of the few antifouls that does not go green out of the water as most are copper based.

The only thing I would be worried about is if you overcoat old antifoul you may get bleed through greening from the old antifoul below? Perhaps the best would be to wait until the winter and strip off the old antifoul by scraping a couple of coats of Gelshield as a primer and then white Trilux.

Have you considered painting a sharks jaw and teeth at the bow to give it a more menacing aire.

I believe the original "Bandit" which I believe was originally named Kingfisher before she went to France was built in 1986 and she was I believe the second Sedan built as all the build in furniture has "Sedan 02" pencilled on the back of it. She was very heavily laid up to start with probably more so than the later models?

I had the original wood work in the saloon refitted with replacement which was probably heavier , the 63 engines were about the same weight and I had larger fuel tanks fitted at 1850 litres total rather than 1100 greatly increasing the range, I also carried a dinghy , outboard, more chain and a ****load of gear I used to work on about 11.5 tons laden . She would cruise at 23 knots and a fast cruise at 25 knots but top out at 29 knots not the 32 knots predicted as I believe she was slightly over propped.

When I sold her it was not a lot of money for a lot of boat , the accommodation was the same as a 40 to 42ft modern equivalent , later ones were re badged as 38's.

Hello Jon,

We owned Blueriver (called Nauti Minx when we had her) until 2010, initially mooring in Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne and then we took her to Brundall Bay on the Broads where we p/exd her against our current boat.

The planing angle is just where she always sat so no issues there. As another post said, pop her around to 24 kts and she will flatten out a touch. Trim tabs did very little at all.

Great to see she still looks good and I hope you get as much enjoyment from her as we did.

Regards

Phil
