Well it had to happen. Out over the last week and whilst dodging falling RAF Harriers off Lowestoft, we managed to get 4 Fairline Holidays together in the RN&SYC, and sail 3 in formation the length of lake lothing and out to sea.
This meeting has lead on to the imminant formation of a "FAIRLINE HOLIDAY CLUB" web page which is currently under construction. (We all had tales to tell regarding our own bits or GRP which took us 3 days to exhaust)
This motley crew consisted of "Spirit of Avalon" MK1, "Osprey" MK2, "Beau Vallon" MK1 and "Sea Jay"MK3. who joined the party in the harbour.
Now Ian, I know that you will be itching at the edges to get Kalisha into the public domain so. If any one who has a Fairline Holiday or Knows where one is Please send me the info, and pictures if poss and we can add them all into the site.
In addition to the above vessels. Up here on the Broads we also have some mystery Holidays "JO JO, SEA WOLF, SEAL DAWN, INSPIRATION and one based in Loddon. You know who you are, so spill the beans on your toys and any usefull advice and help the Holiday Club take flight. Club Burgee's are on the design table so lets see how many we can get and how many good Holiday Yarns there are!
Most of the people that we have met, seem to have great affection for these little ships, and so the Holiday romance cliche has to be wheeled out here and now!
The four first named seem to be out on the water up here most weekends so getting a good size flottilla together should be realistic possibility, if we can get a pile of like minded soles in contact with each other via the site.
Ian you can definatly send up your info on the BSS as it will be here for 2005.
Thanks guys and gals, and hope to see shortly
