Is anyone here a member of the Fairlie Yacht Club?

Do you have to join FYC to get a swing mooring in the bay?
If so, does any one know the cost, who to contact and the waiting list time?

Cheers

Al.

Clyde Wanderer rents his mooring in Failie from a guy in Millport, He will answer you but he's off to Tarbert this weekend. Send him a PM

I used to live on Bay Street Fairlie, so i know the location of the FYC moorings very well. Many a winter i sat at my bay window watching the waves crashing over the cars covering them with salt water. Boats coming and going! It was a fabulous view.
Forgot about the Fairlie Quays moorings, will look at them too.

With the horror stories of Rigging and de-rigging a trailer sailer, I wondered if it would be better with a slightly bigger boat like Spyros and keep it on a swing mooring to reduce costs. What do you think?

What other swing moorings are there on the Clyde near to Largs?

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers

Al.

I keep my boat on a swinging mooring AT Largs, off the slip at the old sailing club location (the south bay) - Largs sailing club have the rights but I'm not - and not required to be - a member.
There seems to have been a couple of free risers on the trot this season, but I don't think those were serviced.

Like Fairlie, a bit exposed to the south west, I regularly find seaweed wrapped round the forestay!

PM me if you want contact details.
