extending a mast

how will extending the mast affect spreader angle ? they are fixed by diamond stays and could not be altered. its a double spreader rig with diamond stays holding the mast in column, not fixed to the deck . the cap and intermediate shrouds do that . now i will reveal that the yacht concerned is a .... catamaran , no doubt it will induce even more head shaking !

It won't affect the angle of the spreaders relative to the mast, but relative to the stays......
