Re: So, if we went handzup for 4/5th October

I'll go for a tentative yes, pending tabling the issue with the appropriate authorities

Re: non-claysie

Then they all went to the supermarket, Waitrose no less, and purchased a frozen sheepdog. Upon placing it in the rear of their stationary station wagon it slithered from their despairing grasps and shattered into a thousand icy shards of canine matter on the damp tarmac .. was this broke collie?

Best thing is to lie about it, and say it all about work. Then later admit it is boating. Then she will realise how very trustworthy you are (not very) BUT be thankful that you are only cheating on her to go boating, which is sort-of ok, somehow.

agreed, see how things work out. Radar a good idea that time of year really, but not mandatory, depending on weather.

Re: not seasick eh?

what about if i try the old gambit of pretending to retch into a paper bag with a bit of cupasoup in it, and then cheerily swallowing the contents and saying" well, it's warm and wet, eh?!" How about that? Or, on jimi's boat, daubing up my face with bit of dark chocolate after inspecting the bilges, and then licking it off?

um, i am running out of spare boats, i think...

Ken,

I would love to go with someone as crew to get the experience. Due to business and family commitments this year (our first with a sailing boat), I have yet to sail outside the Solent (wimp!!), and I don't feel not ready to go across on my own boat - we plan to do so next year.

Maybe then, I could cadge a lift as a crew member - I guess that's a bit of a cheek, but if anyone has a vacancy, I'd love to do it.

Cheers

Mike N.

Love to go but can't make 4th/5th October. Could make one week later.
Will take Arcturus or crew for others.
(Very Important Factor:- I do have heating!)

Would be happy to bring our Dehler 37 on the second w/e and offer berths for 3/4. We could discuss the merits of linear galleys........
Cant do first weekend as in Finland.
Will there be a burgee?!!

Re: humane killing

yeah, shoot him, the fool.

Note: Mr Zefender uses that name because (so he says) someone who lost his fender whilst abroad shouted "zefender!" at him. Which is quite nice way of choosing a name, innit?

Beware children..

Never arrange to meet people you have come across in internet chat rooms. They are invariably not as pretty (or even the same sex) as you imagine.

Am I too late - or can I come too?

Can't take my boat as she's too small. But I've been across once before so could be a useful crew on someone else's boat! Any offers?

I'll follow this thread for a final date.

Les
