I learnt some interesting facts yesterday while looking over Lively Lady.
A bloke was explaining to his wife that Francis Chichester was the first man to sail round the world in Lively Lady. She said that she thought that was Alec Rose. Not so, apparently.
Alec Rose did it later in a boat called Mary Rose, which is the boat now in dry dock in Greenham.
I've been getting it wrong all these years.

It must have been Francis Chichester, coz they named the harbour after him. Alec Rose probably made his first attempt in the ill fated Mary Rose and, due to the distinct lack of DIY Superstores at the time, had to wait a long time for the sponsorship to try again.
