Excellent surveyor worth the money

We are in the process of buying a Hillyard 9 tonner. We have had a survey and it was a massively intersting and rewarding experience. The price seemed expensive at first but the quality of work made the price cheap. The surveyor made the point of inviting me along. He started work at 8 am and didnot stop for anything to eat or drink until well past 4. He then wrote a 33 page reprt, not onlt outlining the problems but also how to fix them. Through the day he pointed out problems and how they were caused. I learnt more in one day than I have in years. This is not an advert but merely a client paying tribute to a true professional. His name is John Lilley, based in Beaminster Dorset. I have heard many criticising surveyors but my experience has been totally positive.

Is this the same John Lilley who occassionally posts on this or the PBO forum?

Don't know John, but for the South East I can definitely recommend Ray Johnstone, who can be found in the directory here. A fine, helpful fellow, who produced an excellent (in the detail, if not the news!) survey for me for a very reasonable price. There really are some good guys out there after all!
