With Evinrude having being discontinued, are parts still available and can anyone service them? I presume it’s not too difficult for anyone that knows outboards as long as parts are still about?
Does anyone know for how long parts will continue to be sold in the UK (if they still are)?
Would parts then be available from the US/Canada or would evinrude owners be completely done for?
Thanks

I have bought parts from a US dealer in the past - While there's probably not a huge problem now, I doubt it will be come easier to keep them running - one useful bit of kit that may help would be the diagnostic tool - bit old fashioned with it's serial port, but did the job - got that from a US dealer. There's a good Evinrude Owners forum although do read it for a while to get a feel - as some of the users seem to get a bit ansty when you don't say what motor you have and so on.

I rebuilt an Evinrude Etec about 2-3 years ago and did have a bit of trouble getting parts. Some were on back order, but I got everything I needed in the end. I ordered much through Chas Newens, but one part on back order was teh head gasket and when it finally arrived it came from Barrus weirdly. They are a Mercury dealer and have no connection with Evinrude AFAIK.
