It\'s worse than we thought

Oh! No! Not the dreaded onoing storms? Now we know we are in trouble.This is typical of the Labour Government, burying a threat to national life under a flurry of meteorological exaggeration. Last time it onoed Tescos ran out of shoe polish and parafin was rationed in the Orkneys.

PS: We have just had a couple of drops of rain in Winchester.

i reckon it would be worth easily 100 grand for princess fergie to announce this afternoon that she and prince andrew are planning to get married again. In fact, er, are there any odds for this? definitely worth a punt.

imho a most excellent move was anne and snowden announcing divorce the day after wilson resigned..

Re: Its arrived - just as I predicted!

The 'blizzard' lasted 40 minutes, and - oh gosh! its actually dipped below freezing here - nearly 2 whole degrees C below!!! And there is nearly 25 mm of snow - the whole S coast will grind to a halt!

Rather more interesting was the thunder that accompanied it - only once before seen a thundering snowstorm and that was in the Alps.

A visit to the Chimet archive is quite interesting: a gust at the height of the storm (around 18.15) peaked from an average 30kts to over 60, then died to next to nothing, while the barometer appears to have blipped a 4 mb rise in around 10 minutes, while the sea built up from around.05m to nearly 1m wave height in the same period.

Was anyone out there in the Solent to experience it first hand?
