I met Eric very briefly in 1962 before the start of the Tall ships race when with our OYC skipper Chris Ellis we were around his boat Pen Duik in Dartmouth in the days prior to the race start from Torbay. Years I later bought a bunch of souvenir Pen Duik items from a mini museum in Concarneau's Ville Close which I still have in my collection of mementoes
