In my continued search for a slightly bigger boat, am pondering the following.....
Would my 170hp kad 32 power a 24' Fairline Carrera? The 32 makes my current Weekender leap from the water, so would it be powerfull enough in a larger boat? I cant find conclusive data for weights of the carrera. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

I've got an old MBM with and article about a 24 Carrera re-engined with twin Volvo 105hp's, gave top speed of 25knts and significantly better mid range perfromance compared to the old twin 171 petrols. Sounds like a single 170 would give similar performance, have a look through the back issues service.

it's not just the amount of power of course....

however that engine has a supercharger and a turbo I believe so one way or another you will be able to prop the thing correctly and get it going.
