The question has to be - where do they all come from? If you try to find a spot in a marina or anchorage on August Bank Holiday they are all full. Surely there must be empty moorings or marinas somewhere that they must have come from, or does someone conjure them up from from thin air?
Incidentally, I would respectfully request that that twit in a motor cruiser who nearly ran me down at 25 knots off Hayling Island yesterday, keeps a lookout when he is on auto pilot. I was close hauled, so was rather limited in my options for avoidance and he only missed me by a boatlength or two, if that.
I can't say I noticed that many. Monday was a great day to go sailing and I had the best run I've had all year. Stiff breeze and a fine reach from Beaulieu to Chichester. Going in to work this morning was no fun!

Fred
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
Well my thoughts are that either
A A lot of businesses in Scotland now take the August Bank Holiday or
B A lot of owners from England now keep their boats on the Clyde
- in local parlance the place was 'hoachin wi' yats'
