anyone know if volvo penta 2001 engine mounts are the same as for any other (cheaper) part? Any after market maker?

If so what, where, how much etc

Thanks

Anyone made their own with polyurethane? Good or bad idea?

I got engine mountings for my Volvo Penta D1-30B engine from here,
Their website gives detailed measurements of fixing holes and capacities so you can compare with your existing mounts.

17/10/2016 (4) mountings were £215.57 incl. VAT

I think the front one might be the more problematic as from memory it is a long oblong rubber bonded to a shaped metal curved bar frame. The rear ones could probably have something more generic cobbled up in their place.

Sorry to pour water on the OEM scene ...... my SR25 had a 4-99 Perkins mounted on Petta mounts ..... approx 25yrs later they needed replacement.

The actual item that is important is that the mount system is designed for the 'torque / stress the motor gives out.

The 4-99 was refitted with 3rd party mounts to angle iron beam mounts. The same have been used for its replacement 4-107.

My point is that you can buy OEM mounts at XX price ... but in fact as long as mounts are suitable for the engine size and provide the correct shaft line up .... you can save a wad of cash ....
My 3rd party mounts from ~2005 are still perfect.

ok then, how can one work out the what the correct loadings etc are for a given engine? in my case a volvo 2001, and then find a rubber bushing that is appropriate

What worries me about engine mounts in my yacht is not the forces put on the mounts by engine use but the forces involved when heeling at a steep angle and bouncing violently around at the same time.
