engine hours on VOLVO TAMD 41-P

A boat with volvo Tamd-41-p engine has 800hrs on it . Whats your thoughts on the amount of hours and what sort of problems would i expect to get if any or is 800hr nothing to worry about.

seriously,get the fuel and cooling systems properly checked out though. The core engine should be fine (check oil pressure hot and cold at speed) but depending on use, the cooling systems get bunged up and the fuel system can get contaminated with diesel bug, All very fixable, but if left to get worse will give trouble.

There was a Turbo 36 sold recently on the Thames with just under 4000 hours,
It had been looked after !

Nothing to worry about, just keep up the maintenance schedule and don't let any corrosion take hold on the outside (spray with wd40 or similar occasionally) that will hinder future repairs. These are solid engines and should be good for 10000hrs plus.

Port of London Authority sold one of their Botnia Targas with twin AD41's a few years back with 25000hrs!

800 hours is nothing in terms of engine usage. I think I average 36mph overall in my car - that would be less than 30K miles over 800 hours.
What's more important is how it's been maintained - especially the cooling system. (and as also mentioned above by Kashurst - the fuel system).
