The rev counter on my Fairline weekender has an hours reading at the bottom-is it possible to reset this to zero?
It's a volvo penta engine-and instrument, I assume..

Are you a car dealer?:D

Why would you want to, with a logbook it proves it's history, and if you have fitted a new engine it will come with a set of new instruments.

or if I fit an engine with history but not it's own instruments?
just seemed a neat thing to do-either reset to zero or to the engine hours recorded on the replacement engine...
is that a 'no' then?

for heaven's sake...get down off your collective high horse....the boat is a 1981 Fairline weekender, the engine counter reads about 81 hours-so I think we can stop worrying about trying to pull wool over people's eyes...anyway, why wouldn't you want to hear that the engines were replaced and the counters reset?
You're still taking it on trust whatever you're told!
Anyway, it's a digital LCD readout,if anyone has any ideas.

Tie her up really tightly to the pontoon and chuck the engines in reverse for 81 hours - that should do the trick :D:D

Speedy Cables in Swansea (no connection) i'm sure will be able to do as requested. They seem to do most types of units and i'm pretty sure they will help (usually £70 + pp + vat ).
