Enforcement in marinas.

Yup, got both my orange licenses. One for the boat sat idle in the marina, the other for the boat stored on a trailer in a back garden.

To be fair they will both actually be used on the river though.

Just to remind all;
High court appeal judgement February 2013.
Lord Justice Lewison :
I assume you mean 2016?

The 2013 appeal judgement was a different case a different waterway however case law is relevant, here it was clear to Lord Lewison that when water is on private land it is private water, there is no doubt that these are private marinas, built on private land.

The defendant in this case defended himself in 3 court appearances and won despite the considerable funds available to the navigation authority.

This is getting boring now:sleeping:. Is the purpose of posting on this single subject to inform or have you come here expecting a Robin Hood style round of applause? Wait for the process to run its course and then we'll see. Anyone else got their orange licence yet?
To Inform.

Do you know how much of our money was spent by the EA on this flawed legislative route? Did you know that even the 'Kept' boat legislation was declared ultra vires by Defra for some years before 2010. Do you care how much money is wasted by the EA pandering to your warped sense of justice?

I am sure we have all got better things to do at the moment so happy Christmas to all especially those defendants that must approach the new year carrying the burden of further litigation with the EA.

If the next storm is heavy you might need the one on your little boat sooner than you think (LOL)!

Our money? So you do pay for an annual river licence then?

And of course I care what the EA spends its budget on. I want to see it spent on the river, not litigation. Am I concerned about anyone facing court in the new year? Absolutely not. People with real hardship at Christmas get my sympathy, not marina customers.

You were paid for that. Lets not try to make people sympathetic because you chose your path...

Wow I shall let all my fellow service men and women know of your deep understanding and wise words. I think I'll post your reply on Facebook just to let all of them know the true nature of the people they defend and serve. It seems my request for understanding fell on deaf ears. You Sir are below contempt

Are there any drystack marinas on the non tidal Thames?

Just done a search and Walton Marina offer Drystacking, so if you have a boat in drystack would the Enforcement team book you if you did not have a licence?

I would imagine it is the same as a boat on the hard... they can't do anything unless it's in the water. They can't ticket an unregistered tender on davits either....

Just to let No Regrets know you are getting a fantastic response of Facebook Re. your comments.

Did anybody read the article in the Times regarding EA bonuses to their board of directors? Good to know they are using their money wisely and for the benefit of all. I guess they will be able to charge the people of the North who are flooded out by their water flowing through their lounges. The CEO of the EA is fine though just in case you are concerned, He's in the West Indies I hear. Must be nice for him.

Happy New Year by the way.

Ah, wonderful. Threats! Childish and churlish, but thats only to be expected from somebody who has worked for an organisation which has, in reality, been invading other countries looking for imaginary WMD's, and encouraging terrorism, whilst in some cases killing innocent people.

I have never stooped as low as you.

I don't respect people who blindly follow orders regardless of the cruelty those orders may inflict on others.

Tell that to your 'Facebook Mob' :encouragement:

PS: WW2 ended a long time ago. I have respect for people who fought a real war, rather than a battle for Oil fields.
