Good value marina's in Greece

It’s looking likely, subject to survey that I might be the owner of a Moody 425 located in Leros, Greece.

I’ll be doing the initial works in Leros as it is paid for, but I wanted to look at some other options for marinas or boatyards further west to change the standing rigging and do some carpentry work.

Ideally the standing rigging will be done semi DIY, meaning I’ll do the labour to remove the mast myself and have it copied there ready to reinstall. I don’t want to be waiting a month for parts to be shipped to the rigger though, so a good stock on hand would be ideal. Alternatively, I may have the job done as a complete package, we’ll see.

So any recommendations for potential marinas and rigging companies within 300nm of Leros?

There are few better marinas in Greece than Leros. It is full with a long waiting list. Dependent upon future plans, think carefully before you relinquish your berth there.

Well we're heading west, far west, so not returning to Greece (or even the EU) wont be a problem for now

I recall people having rig replacements in Leros Marina. Wires were all made up in Athens but only took a couple of days turnaround. This was a few years ago and things may have changed.

Artemis at the north end of the island has a good reputation for rigging but you would need to haul out there.

Alternatively the yards at the north side of Aegina are very competent. Look for Wim van Pelt, a rigger by trade. He works for several of the yards there.
