I wish to contact owners of any Endurance 40s that have been built by Windboats of Wroxham during the 1970s.
My own vessel, "Tuscair", has an overall length of 48 feet, and was designed by Peter Ibold and built of "Seacrete". I have had the boat for some five years now, and very much enjoy sailing her, as she has proved herself very sturdy as well as elegant.
However, I have some concerns regarding the condition of the top of the hull where it meets the mahogany capping. It may not be of original design, but the wood capping seems to be bolted or rawlbolted on with mild steel! Needless to say, this is rusting away quite rapidly now, and necessitates a prompt remedy. I suspect that other owners may have experienced this problem, or have a different way of topping off the caprail/toerail.
I would be very grateful to hear from other owners as regards this problem, but would also be willing to help create a link-up or forum between other owners of these fine yachts.
